Director, Marketing

Department: FCPA - Marketing
Location: Sunnyvale, CA

This role has overall responsibility for Demand Generation including: Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, Promotional Programs & Activities and Public Relations. Manage the marketing functions and staff responsible for creating content, marketing deliverables, launch materials, and all marketing activities for products and projects.


  • Work with management team to ensure that content and concepts are in line with go-to-market strategies, market requirements and product functionality;
  • Create and manage Marketing Budget for MARCOM and Channel Programs; ROI Management and analysis for marketing investments; make decisions on the appropriate marketing mix and shift dollars as necessary in order to achieve stated goals
  • Integrate and Collaborate with PFU and major OSC companies
  • Create content and oversee the creation of content that is appropriate for end users and system integrators;
  • Manage any additional staff that is assigned to marketing new products and projects; 
  • Work with finance and product management on pricing; channel programs and promotional activities;
  • Manage launch plans with product management to maximize activities and exposure for each product in its appropriate market and to appropriate system integrators;
  • Develop communication plans and oversee content creation across advertising and public relations activities as well as the web which may be executed via affiliated companies (OSCs and partners); 
  • Develop plan to leverage modern marketing methods; including SNS, Meetups, and digital marketing; 
  • Develop objectives for trade shows that support the efforts of product management, any business development and/or sales for corporate projects and products;
  • Develop goals and plan for Account Based Marketing; working with IT and Legal on customer privacy regulations
  • Partnership with Business Development and Product Management to create and integrate vertical marketing messages to partners and end-users;
  • Decide and develop strategy on evaluating demand for new offerings and determine the right vehicles to market those offerings;
  • Build and establish all networking activities necessary to market new products;
  • Work cohesively and strategically with peers in the organization for the betterment of the company as a whole.

Marketing & Communications

  • Responsible for creating and implementing the strategy for branding, promoting and selling products or services to achieve financial objectives;
  • Demand Generation: oversees all aspects of marketing, which includes processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners;
  • In-charge of developing the marketing strategy for how the company will position itself in the market to attract new and retain existing customers, while achieving the corporation's revenue growth and profitability objectives;
  • Establish metrics for each element of the marketing mix and activities;
  • Delivers measurement and reporting of performance metrics of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals.

Channel Marketing

  • Directs criteria and elements of channel partner programs in conjunction with sales and product management;
  • Demand Generation:  Co-creation of marketing programs in alignment with corporate initiatives for distribution partners, direct market resellers, value add resellers, and e-tailers;
  • Responsible for impact of marketing programs with channel members;
  • Engages with high profile Accounts and Partners.

Public Relations

  • Devise overall communication strategy as it pertains to positioning, messaging and media outreach;
  • Lead efforts to cultivate partnerships for cross promotion and solution marketing.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:  Assess and manage contracts and relationships with service providers (PR, SEO, SEM, etc.) Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to develop, communicate, and implement channel and direct marketing initiatives. Develop relationship with parent company and participate in marketing discussions with other overseas companies.

EXPERIENCE:  8 10 years of related experience within a corporate environment in the Marketing department with oversight of 3 5 team members.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field of study from an accredited university/college.


  • Knowledge:  An understanding of costs and the implications to the business; must have a grasp on all aspects of marketing and the ability to bring new ideas or opportunities to improve the business or business processes.
  • Skills:  Capable of using essential skills to understand marketing techniques that focus around product engineering; excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are required.
  • Abilities:  Must be highly motivated and able to drive the team to success while staying on task and meeting assigned deadlines; able to communicate concepts, activities and action items to Japanese colleagues and affiliated companies; capable of taking on a leadership role in cross-functional groups while maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
