Accounting Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Administrator to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience and a strong understanding of financial processes, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks. Reporting to the Finance and Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting overall financial operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Data entry: Inputting financial transactions into accounting software, including invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries
  • A/P management: Reviewing and verifying invoices, matching them to purchase orders, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments regarding billing issues and payments.
  • A/R management: Managing accounts receivable by following up on outstanding payments and claims, processing credit and debit memos, and coordinating with customers and internal departments regarding collection issues.
  • General ledger maintenance: Posting transactions to the general ledger to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Account reconciliation: Comparing and balancing account balances to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Bank statement reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements to accounting transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Filing and recordkeeping: Maintaining organized financial records and documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards under J-SOX requirements and assist with year-end audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting administration or related finance role
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with Oracle is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and analysis
  • Ability to accurately input data and identify errors in financial information
  • Ability to provide clear communication with colleagues and stakeholders regarding financial information
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in working with sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks
  • Bilingual English/French is a plus

Salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $55,000 to $62,000 CAD. Additionally, this role is eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
