Spares Planner

Objective of this role:

To ensure availability of spare parts, options and consumables when needed based on forecast, backlog and run rate without creating excess inventory in an effort to provide our customers (internal and external) with the best possible service.

Major Responsibilities:

Essential functions / duties:

  • Perform accurate Planning for all spare parts and consumables for Distribution and Service requirements and place orders accordingly to avoid any stock outages
  • Accurately maintain Oracle parts database for new part additions, changes, cost and status (obsolete, end of life, etc.)
  • Open, maintain and ensure accuracy of manual and automated work orders creation based on Oracle alerts for RMA units
  • Disposition and processing of excess, end of life and scrap inventory
  • Proactively review spares and consumables stock levels on a monthly basis and make recommendations that will avoid excess inventory issues
  • Provide weekly availability of spare parts, options and consumables against backlog
  • Displays the desire to increase contribution to the planning process of consumables, PFU - Ricoh spare parts and Competitive products spare parts
  • Accurately create parts for spares, end item, options, consumables and packaging
  • Review Min/Max alert and respond with order quantities and expected arrival dates for any items appearing on the alert

Marginal functions / duties:

  • Update PO’s as needed
  • Publish weekly Recon Schedule
  • Print / review weekly product availability reports
  • Interface with Vendor to expedite orders
  • Review Refurbished Inventory status and disposition as needed
  • Proactively transfer inventory between inventory organizations to avoid stock outages
  • Review backlog and advise CSR’s on the lack of availability based on ship dates
  • Create Tear Down work orders as needed
  • Provide support on Special projects as needed
  • Know and comply with all company / department policies and procedures
  • Log into and maintain the correct status on the ACD system daily
  • Post status of spares and consumable backorders every Friday on company website and provide thorough explanation of why the backorder occurred
  • Publish weekly status of work order completion for PFU - Ricoh products including what was completed from the previous week’s priority

Qualifications:

Educational / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five years prior planning experience preferred
  • Previous planning experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with peers and management
  • Good writing skills and proficient in typing
  • Oracle experience desired
  • Manage multiple tasks
  • Exhibit the ability to meet deadlines
  • Team oriented
  • Dependable
